IT Application Engineer

Summary

The IT company Andersen invites a IT Application Engineer to work on a project in the field of Logistics and Supply Chain.

The customer is a global transport and logistics company. It provides specialized logistics solutions for various industries worldwide. With over 1,300 offices in more than 100 countries and approximately 81,000 employees, the company is a leader in sea and air freight forwarding.

The project is a system that serves as a centralized platform for data encapsulation from various sources. Its primary function is to facilitate order creation and management for external clients.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and breaking down problems using structured problem resolution approaches.
• Evaluating, diagnosing, researching, analyzing, and providing solutions to problems encountered.
• Setting up and configuring requests together with customers.
• Making changes to existing setups based on customer descriptions.
• Participating in the full lifecycle of a client implementation, including Preparation, Design, Implementation, and Operations/Maintenance.
• Ensuring systems are running efficiently and securely.
• Performing regular system updates, patches, and backups.
• Conducting end-to-end testing and supporting rollouts.
• Ensuring solutions conform to current industry standards as well as to customer’s internal guidelines and standards.
• Providing Level 3 support for applications under your responsibility.
• Working together with vendor support on all issues with commercial applications.
• Supporting and maintaining system documentation and SLDs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proven ability to understand BU requirements, assess business needs and translate them into form of high-quality solution design.
• Experience with large-scale full-cycle client-based enterprise software implementations.
• Practical experience in one or more relevant programming languages and frameworks.
• Experience with Unix/Linux.
• Experience with database technologies including normalization, constraints, indexes, triggers, and SQL for 1+ years.
• Ability to interact with different countries, cultures, clients (internal and external).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate.
