The IT company Andersen invites a Data Engineer (Dubai) to work on a project in the field of Environment.

The customer is an innovative company that utilizes technology to turn CO₂ into stone, accelerating the natural process of mineralization. This safe and scalable solution permanently removes CO₂ from the atmosphere, contributing to the fight against climate change. The company's mission is to provide the world with accessible and reliable methods for CO₂ mineralization.

The project is to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support advanced data analytics and machine learning initiatives.

This position involves working in the customer's office in Dubai.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, loading, and storing of large volumes of data.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools to support data pipelines and processing.
• Develop and implement efficient ETL processes to integrate data from various sources into our data systems.
• Utilize big data technologies to process and analyze large datasets efficiently and optimize data workflows and pipelines.
• Design and implement data models, schemas, and data warehousing solutions.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to understand data needs and provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
• Monitor data pipelines, infrastructure, and data quality.
• Document data architecture, processes, and workflows to ensure comprehensive understanding and maintainability.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in data engineering or related roles, with a strong track record of designing and implementing complex data solutions for 5+ years.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, etc., and experience with scripting languages.
• Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop ecosystem, Spark, Kafka) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Certifications in cloud platforms (Azure Certified Big Data - Specialty, Azure Data Engineer) or related technologies.
• Solid understanding of relational databases (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake) and data modeling techniques (star schema, dimensional modeling).
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and familiarity with DevOps practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate.
