The IT company Andersen invites a DevOps Engineer in Dubai to work on a project in the field of Environment.
The customer is an innovative company that utilizes technology to turn CO₂ into stone, accelerating the natural process of mineralization. This safe and scalable solution permanently removes CO₂ from the atmosphere, contributing to the fight against climate change. The company's mission is to provide the world with accessible and reliable methods for CO₂ mineralization.
The project is the development, implementation and maintenance of IT systems, software applications and data pipelines to support the technical needs and business objectives of the client's organization.
This position involves working in the customer's office in Dubai.
Responsibilities
- Designing, deploying, and maintaining IT infrastructure (servers, networks, storage, cloud services).
- Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions for optimal uptime, reliability, and security.
- Managing user access, permissions, and security policies to protect sensitive data and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Planning and executing IT infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
- Implementing scalable and secure IT infrastructure solutions.
- Optimizing cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for high availability and performance.
- Developing and maintaining ETL pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Designing and implementing data models for analytics and reporting.
- Ensuring data quality and integrity across pipelines and databases.
- Managing relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) for data availability and security.
- Optimizing database performance and schema design.
- Implementing and enforcing security best practices for IT infrastructure and data systems.
- Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and company policies.
- Conducting regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Mentoring and guiding junior team members, providing technical leadership.
- Participating in strategic planning and technology roadmap discussions.
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation for IT infrastructure, data pipelines, and processes.
- Conducting training sessions for users on new technologies and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's Degree preferred).
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure management and data engineering roles for 5+ years.
- Strong proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Ansible).
- Expertise in designing and optimizing ETL processes and data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Solid understanding of network protocols, security protocols, and data encryption methods.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Project management experience, including the ability to lead and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate.
Desired skills
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or equivalent.
