The IT company Andersen invites a QA Engineer to work on a large-scale project in the field of Computer Games.
The customer is a leader in the field of online games development and publishing. It is dedicated to delivering authentic gaming experiences across various platforms, including PC, consoles, and mobile devices. The company has offices and development studios worldwide, including Seattle, Chicago, Baltimore, Sydney.
The project involves the development of a computer game, focusing on creating new designs and expansions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with developers, stakeholders, and technical artists/animators to understand and support game requirements.
- Designing and executing manual test cases to validate functionality, usability, and performance.
- Conducting various types of testing: functional, regression, compatibility, and performance.
- Analyzing and working with performance traces (e.g., FPS, tracing in Unreal Engine).
- Testing complex game mechanics and technical/gameplay elements.
- Working with game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity and client-side changes.
- Identifying, reporting, and tracking bugs and issues.
- Preparing, maintaining, and optimizing test documentation (test plans, cases, checklists).
- Using tools like Git for version control, including pull requests and push/pull.
- Independently building and deploying servers using Docker.
- Collaborating with developers to enhance features and processes, including providing automated testing coverage when required.
- Participating in planning, stand-ups, and problem resolution meetings.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a QA Engineer on complex projects, especially in game development for 3+ years.
- Experience with Unreal Engine or Unity.
- Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Strong skills in writing and maintaining test documentation (plans, cases, checklists).
- Proficiency with version control systems (Git).
- Basic knowledge of DevOps tools like Docker and CI/CD platforms like TeamCity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in working with JIRA, TestRail, or similar tools.
- Level of English – from Intermediate and above.
Desired skills
- Experience in MMOFPS or similar game development projects.
- Understanding and experience in performance testing, including performance trace analysis.
- Experience with technologies such as Kibana.
