DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Summary

The IT company Andersen invites a DevOps Engineer (AWS) to work on a large-scale project in the field of Computer Games.

The customer is a leader in the field of online games development and publishing. It is dedicated to delivering authentic gaming experiences across various platforms, including PC, consoles, and mobile devices. The company has offices and development studios worldwide, including Seattle, Chicago, Baltimore, Sydney.

The project focuses on post-release support of a computer game, ensuring stability and continued development after launch.

Technology stack: Kubernetes, Helm, Docker Compose, AWS, GCP, Terraform, Ansible, Prometheus, Grafana, Loki/Elasticsearch, Python, Bash, Linux, WSL.

Responsibilities

• Transitioning from Docker Compose to Kubernetes.
• Setting up configurations, checking redundancies.
• Launching and debugging existing code.
• Collaboration with a multicultural team.

Requirements

• Experience as a DevOps Engineer for 5+ years.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker Compose.
• Experience in migrating from Docker Compose to Kubernetes, including configuring production redundancies and settings.
• Knowledge of cloud providers such as AWS.
• Proficiency with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure management (IaC).
• Understanding of deployment processes for game servers.
• Experience setting up and working with Prometheus and Grafana.
• Knowledge of Loki (preferred) or its alternatives like Elasticsearch.
• Ability to write and understand scripts in Python and Bash.
• Experience with Linux, WSL.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.

Desired skills

• Experience with CI/CD tools like ArgoCD and TeamCity.
• Knowledge of Jenkins, Flux, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of GCP.
• Experience with stateful services and their migration to Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Agones (a game-specific orchestrator) or a willingness to learn it quickly.
