Summary

Andersen, an international IT сompany, invites a Database Administrator to work on a large-scale project in the field of FinTech.

The customer is a unique financial institution that boldly leads the banking industry to new horizons. It is represented by 18 branches and 31 offices in 18 cities of Kazakhstan.

The project is maintenance and optimization of the bank's current databases, preparation for migration to a new data center.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the database.
  • Ensuring correct operation of the database.
  • Migrating between Oracle and PostrgeSQL, as well as between Oracle versions.
  • Maintaining standby servers (physical Standby).
  • Creating and migrating the database to a new data center (creating new Standby servers).
  • Administrating users.
  • Performing backups, restoring the database from backups.
  • Configuring uptime (deploying/working with cluster solutions, creating Primary/Standby schema, switching between Primary/Standby).
  • Monitoring database operation.
  • Configuring external monitoring tools (Zabbix, Grafana, etc.).
  • Viewing and configuring system metrics/database parameters.
  • Providing recommendations to developers on bottlenecks.
  • Working with the DBMS vendor's support team.
  • Writing authorization scripts.

Requirements

  • Experience in DBMS administration (Oracle 11 and above, Postgres 6 and above) for 3+ years.
  • Experience in working with Linux family operating systems.
  • Basic skills of administration and problem detection on the operating system and server hardware side where the DBMS is installed.
  • Knowledge and experience with monitoring tools (Zabbix, Grafana, etc.).
  • Scripting and task automation skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and interact with developers and support service.
  • Level of English – from Intermediate and above.
