System Administrator (Linux)

Summary

The IT company Andersen invites an experienced System Administrator (Linux) to join its team for working with a company from the UK.

The customer is a UK-based next-generation integrated global payment ecosystem with the clear mission to change how money is moved around the world. The company currently supports cross-network operability globally across Mastercard, Visa, China UnionPay and local ACH and payment schemes, providing over 40 payment methods for online SMEs.

The project aims to leverage the customer’'s cutting-edge technology and expertise to provide individuals and businesses with fast, secure, and cost-effective payment services across borders.

Requirements

• Experience as a System Administrator for 3+ years.
• Expertise in Linux server administration, including various distributions like Ubuntu, CentOS and Oracle Linux.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection systems, and security best practices.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Perl.
• Understanding of Postgres, Oracle.
• Experience with Zabbix or Prometheus.
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Packer, Gitlab, CloudFlare.
• Knowledge of server hardening techniques to secure Linux systems and protect sensitive financial data.
• Experience with database systems, such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle databases.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and the ability to configure and troubleshoot network settings.
• Knowledge of financial regulations (e.g. GDPR, PCI DSS).
• Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware.
• Skills in designing and maintaining robust backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong documentation and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness and ability to stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends in fintech and Linux administration.
• Experience with AWS, GCP.
• Experience with Opensearch.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.
