QA Automation Engineer (JavaScript)

Summary

The IT company Andersen invites an experienced QA Automation Engineer (JavaScript) to work on a project for one of our UK customers.

The customer is a UK-based FTSE-listed financial services provider specializing in retirement solutions. The company serves over 700,000 customers and manages more than £27 billion in pension savings. It offers products and services that support individuals approaching or in retirement, including income solutions, equity release, and financial guidance. The project focuses on enhancing software quality through test automation across mobile, web, backend, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 platforms.

The position involves two-week business trips to London.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
• Implementing test automation frameworks for UI, API, and performance testing.
• Utilizing tools such as Selenium, Appium, Postman, JMeter, to enhance test automation coverage.
• Integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Collaborating with DevOps to ensure smooth deployment and monitoring of test environments.
• Supporting shift-left testing by implementing early-stage automation in the development lifecycle.
• Working closely with Test Managers and Defect Managers to track, manage, and resolve defects efficiently.
• Ensuring high test coverage and accurate defect reporting.
• Conducting root cause analysis and contribute to preventative quality measures.
• Partnering with QA, development, and product teams to define test automation strategies.
• Establishing and maintaining of automation testing standards and best practices.
• Providing guidance and training on test automation tools and methodologies.

Requirements

• Experience in test automation for 4+ years.
• Strong proficiency in test automation frameworks and tools (Selenium, Postman, JMeter).
• Experience automating UI, API, and performance tests.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and integration of test automation.
• Knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as JavaScript.
• Experience with cloud-based testing and infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
• Understanding of agile testing methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.

Desired skills

• Experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 testing.
• Familiarity with performance and load testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner, etc.)
• Knowledge of AI-driven test automation.
• Background in finance or fintech applications.
