C++ Software Engineer

Andersen is hiring a C++ Software Engineer for a project with a video infrastructure provider. The role involves developing and optimizing video encoding solutions to improve performance for global streaming services.

The customer is an innovative provider of video infrastructure solutions, offering advanced tools for encoding, playback, and real-time analytics. Their technology supports adaptive streaming at scale, enabling seamless video delivery across diverse platforms and devices. Known for pioneering achievements in cloud-based video processing and awarded for excellence in streaming innovation, the customer serves global media companies, content providers, and technology partners.

The project is focused on developing and optimizing an advanced video encoding solution that powers global streaming services. It involves working with video codecs, streaming protocols, and innovative technologies to enhance performance and push the boundaries of modern video streaming capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Adding advanced features for video streaming workflows.
• Enhancing video quality and compression efficiency.
• Improvements to runtime performance/efficiency.
• Developing high-quality, high-performance, fault-tolerant, well-tested, reusable, and scalable code that will be used.
• Involving in all stages of development, from product ideation through architecture and execution.
• Developing of new and improvement of existing features as well as opportunity to investigate and resolve issues.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices.

Requirements

• Commercial development experience for 5+ years.
• Extensive experience in C++ software development (C++11 and newer).
• Solid understanding of video codecs and container formats.
• Experience with streaming standards such as MPEG-DASH and HLS.
• Familiarity with OTT streaming workflows and video processing pipelines.
• Experience with Java (at least some exposure to Java-based services).
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.
