Frontend Developer (React Native) in the EU

Summary

Andersen is hiring a Frontend Developer (React Native) for a project with a UK fintech company. The role focuses on improving mobile app development processes, streamlining builds, testing, and releases to enhance performance and support business growth.

The customer is a leading UK-based fintech platform that provides fast and flexible financing solutions for small and medium-sized businesses. The company offers unsecured business loans, as well as innovative financial products such as flexible credit lines and cashback business credit cards. Having facilitated over £14.5 billion in loans to more than 130,000 businesses, the company has established itself as the top SME lending platform in the UK.

The project is focused on transforming and optimizing the mobile development lifecycle for an in-house React Native application, which is a key part of the company’s business strategy. The goal is to address existing operational inefficiencies by improving build, testing, and release processes, enhancing security, and creating a smoother developer experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating as part of an agile cross functional team, as well as technology guilds.
• Building great user experiences for customers.
• Delivering innovation through software.
• Implementing business functionality, using React Native, for both iOS and Android.
• Proactively problem solving, identifying and confidently mitigating any risks, issues or control weaknesses that arise in your day-to-day.
• Participating in code reviews, technical discussions and team collaboration.
• Mentoring your colleagues.
• Writing unit, integration and end-to-end tests to ensure code is well tested.

Requirements

• Experience in frontend development for 4+ years.
• Commercial experience with React.js, React Native and the associated ecosystem.
• Strong mobile automated testing experience (unit, integration and end-to-end).
• Knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience with continuous delivery, building pipelines and app releases (both App Store and Play Store).
• Familiarity with mobile ecosystem tooling such as Firebase.
• Familiarity with Gradle, XCode and other native build tools.
• Ability to work with REST APIs and third-party services/libraries.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles.
• Experience with code version control such as Git.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.
