Lead QA Engineer

Summary

Andersen is seeking a Lead QA Engineer for a global airline-owned travel payment platform. The role focuses on ensuring quality, reliability, and security of a next-gen system for complex financial transactions.

The customer is a global corporate travel payment solution owned and operated by the world’s leading airlines. Its network includes major carriers that issue charge cards accepted by thousands of travel-related merchants worldwide, covering air, rail, cruise, and agency payments. The platform also enables airlines to accept multiple payment methods, including alternatives, via integrated processing partners within the customer’s network.

The project is the development of a next-generation payment platform designed to handle complex financial transactions, process sensitive data, and integrate with multiple external systems. With quality, reliability, and security as top priorities, the initiative requires a strong QA strategy to ensure the delivery of a robust, world-class product.

Responsibilities

• Defining and owning the end-to-end QA strategy, covering functional, integration, performance, security, and acceptance testing.
• Establishing QA processes, best practices, and quality metrics (KPIs) to monitor product quality and team performance.
• Building, mentoring, and leading a high-performing QA team while championing a "quality-first" culture across the project.
• Developing and maintaining the master Test Plan, as well as managing the test case management system (e.g., Jira, TestRail) and documentation of artifacts.
• Overseeing the creation, execution, and maintenance of test scenarios and cases for all types of testing.
• Driving test automation strategy, including framework selection, implementation, maintenance, and integration into CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborating with developers to expand automated test coverage.
• Coordinating QA activities within the Agile/SAFe framework, ensuring alignment with sprint and Program Increment (PI) goals.
• Planning and coordinating specialized testing, including performance, security, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Managing the defect lifecycle, from identification and reporting to verification and closure.
• Providing detailed QA reports on progress, defect trends, quality status, and release readiness.
• Contributing to the release sign-off process, ensuring all QA-related acceptance criteria are met.

Requirements

• Experience in QA for 4+ years.
• Deep understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools for API testing (Postman) and UI testing.
• Proficiency with test case management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Understanding of databases (SQL) and ability to write queries for data validation.
• Level of English – Upper-Intermediate and above.

Desired skills

• Experience with performance testing tools (k6).
• Understanding of test automation.
