Backend developer (Java)

Summary

Andersen is seeking an Experienced Java Backend Developer in Poland to join a project developing and customizing innovative banking solutions for leading financial institutions.

The customer is a market leader in delivering software products to banks, with development centers located in Poland, the Netherlands, the UK, and etc. The company develops microservices that are used to assemble solutions for more than 120 financial institutions, such as Uniqa, ING, Deutsche Bank, and others.

The project is developing new directions in banking solutions (financial operations, reporting), implementing and customizing them on the side of external clients.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to new and existing functionalities, proof of concepts, and technical improvements
• Taking ownership of features throughout the full software development life cycle (from idea to release)
• Collaborating with architects, QA engineers, and other team members to align with technical vision and best practices
• Participating in Scrum ceremonies, working in two-week sprints, and delivering monthly product releases

Requirements

• Experience in backend development for 3+ years.
• Solid experience in software development, including system design.
• Experience with Java, Spring, Maven, CI/CD.
• Experience in developing microservices (Netflix OSS is a plus).
• Experience with cloud and traditional application servers (WebSphere, JBoss, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of relational databases.
• Experience with non-functional requirements such as security, performance, and scalability.
• Solid understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns.
• Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with technical stakeholders and team members.
• Excellent communication skills in English, spoken and written;
• Level of English – Upper-Intermediate and above.

Desired skills

• Experience in Full Stack development is a huge advantage;
• Experience in the banking domain or fintech products will be considered an advantage;
