QA Automation Engineer (Kotlin+Swift)

Summary

Andersen is looking for a QA Automation Engineer (Kotlin+Swift) for a Georgian financial institution. The project focuses on optimizing API management to improve security, stability, and scalability of banking systems.

The customer is a leading financial institution headquartered in Georgia, recognized for its strong digital innovation, sustainable growth, and regional expansion. Listed on the London Stock Exchange and included in the FTSE 250 Index, it provides a full range of banking services across retail, SME, corporate, and microbusiness segments. The project is aimed at optimizing API management for banking systems by enhancing their security, stability, and visibility. It focuses on streamlining the development, publication, and automation of API processes to ensure reliable and scalable financial platform operations.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing scalable native mobile test automation frameworks for both Android (Espresso) and iOS (XCUITest).
• Identifying and implementing test automation architecture improvements, frameworks, reusable components, and design patterns (e.g., Page Object Model, Strategy, Dependency Injection).
• Responsibling for the continuous testing pipeline – design and integrate tests into CI/CD processes using DevOps tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).
• Conducting code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and champion automation best practices.
• Working with architects and developers to ensure testability and product quality early in the development lifecycle.
• Optimizing test strategies for performance, stability, and maintainability.
• Continuously evaluating new tools, techniques, and frameworks to keep our automation stack modern and effective.
• Providing visibility into test coverage and risks across multiple mobile features and modules.
• Analyzing failures, debug issues, and work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.

Requirements

• Experience in QA/testing for 5+ years, with at least 3+ years in mobile test automation.
• Proficiency with both Swift and Kotlin for 3+ years.
• Strong hands-on experience in native mobile test automation using XCUITest (iOS) and Espresso (Android).
• Ability to design and build automation frameworks from scratch for native applications.
• Proven experience with real device testing (not only emulators or cloud farms).
• Solid knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, including test parallelization and optimization of execution time.
• Capability to mentor and guide the team, bringing advanced practices and acting as a domain expert.
• Familiarity with modern testing trends, including AI-driven approaches to test automation.
• Proficiency in both Android and iOS ecosystems (one person covering both platforms).
• English – from Upper Intermediate and above.

Desired skills

• Experience in performance or visual testing for mobile apps.
• Prior involvement in quality transformation initiatives across teams or organizations.
• Contributions to open-source QA tools or public talks/articles on mobile testing
