QA Automation Engineer (Python)

Summary

Andersen is hiring a QA Automation Engineer (Python) to support online bank, expanding automated test coverage and ensuring quality and stability across its digital payment services.

The customer is a European online bank specializing in credit card and payment solutions for individual clients and business partners. The organization serves a large cardholder base across several European markets and works with multiple partners on co-branded card programs. A focus on scalable digital services and simple, transparent products has supported steady growth in its segment.

The project is focused on testing releases across all of the bank’s digital services, ensuring stability, quality, and seamless user experience. The QA team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the existing testing framework, expanding automated coverage, and continuously improving testing processes to support ongoing product development.

Responsibilities

• Designing, planning and implementing automation test strategies covering various applications (fronted/backend) and end-to-end workflows for projects and complex business changes.
• Creating and maintaining automated scripts and test suites by use of the latest scripting techniques and maintaining the repository of automated regression tests.
• Administrating all test automation tools, maintaining the test ecosystem and ensuring consistency of automation test artifacts into the source tool management (Git, SVN).
• Defining and designing the test automation infrastructure and architecture in alignment with internal IT teams.
• Supporting the definition of test automation concepts for complex implementation and migration projects.
• Acting as member of the test automation community, contributing to the test automation governance and framework.
• Aligning test automation activities with the Quality Assurance, but also Application.
• Development team members to ensure that test automation is well integrated into the software development process.
• Participating in POCs and prototype initiatives.
• Documenting test automation activities and reporting all identified quality issues and defects.
• Supporting the Quality Assurance Head with general improvements of the QA/Test Procedure.
• Closely collaborating with Business Analysts, Developers and other department members.

Requirements

• Experience as a QA Automation Engineer (Python) for 4+ years.
• Experience in testing overall for 5+ years.
• Experience in Agile environments (ideally Scrum).
• Experience with object-oriented programming in Python and test automation using Playwright (or Selenium) and the requests library.
• Experience using VS Code for Python automation development and debugging.
• Experience using test management and automation tools and frameworks (ideally Azure DevOps, Robot Framework).
• SQL skills with experience across relational databases (MSSQL).
• Experience in system integration testing.
• Knowledge of functional and non-functional testing.
• Knowledge of the credit cards domain or payment processes.
• Knowledge of git workflows and repository management, with basic understanding of SDLC.
• Knowledge of test automation for mobile applications.
• Knowledge of UAT execution or coordination.
• Level of English – from Intermidiate+ and above.

Desired skills

• University degree (Bachelor or higher) in an IT-oriented field.
• Knowledge in Postman for REST API testing.
• Previous experience as a Business Analyst, Developer, or similar role.
• Experience with Temenos Transact Core banking system.
• ISTQB certification, foundational or advanced.
• RFCP (Robot Framework Certified Professional).
