Summary

Andersen is hiring an SAP ABAP Developer in Germany. The role focuses on building and enhancing SAP solutions that automate processes and improve performance for public sector and automotive clients.

The customer is a large international technology provider delivering end-to-end digital solutions for enterprise-level organizations. The project is focused on delivering SAP ABAP enhancements for public-sector and automotive customers, enabling secure, compliant, and efficient process automation. The team develops and customizes modules that support finance, HR, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and real-time data integration, improving operational performance across both domains.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, enhancing and maintaining SAP ABAP components, including reports, interfaces, forms, workflows and custom objects.
  • Implementing OData services and backend logic to support SAP Fiori/UI5 applications.
  • Building CDS views, AMDP methods and S/4HANA-optimized artefacts for analytical and transactional applications.
  • Analyzing functional requirements and translating them into technical specifications and robust solution designs.
  • Collaborating with SAP consultants, architects and integration teams to ensure correct end-to-end delivery.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving defects, performance issues and integration problems during SIT/UAT.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation, code comments, transport logs and development guidelines.
  • Supporting data migration activities (LSMW, BAPI-based loads, custom programs) where needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with SAP development standards, performance best practices and security requirements.
  • Participating in code reviews and contributing to improving development quality across the project.
  • Providing go-live and post-go-live support to ensure solution stability and adherence to requirements.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in ABAP development across SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA for 6+ years.
  • Strong knowledge of ABAP OO, enhancements, BAdIs, user exits, BAPIs, RFCs and CDS views.
  • Experience developing and maintaining complex custom logic, reports, forms (SmartForms, Adobe Forms), workflows, and interfaces.
  • Practical experience with OData services and SAP Gateway for Fiori/UI5 integration.
  • Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA concepts: CDS-based modelling, AMDP, RAP, performance-optimized code.
  • Experience working with integration scenarios (IDocs, APIs, middleware, web services).
  • Understanding of functional processes in at least one SAP domain (FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, HR, etc.).
  • Ability to read functional specs, collaborate with consultants and convert business logic into technical design.
  • Experience supporting SIT/UAT, debugging issues and optimizing performance.
  • Familiarity with SAP transports, versioning and development lifecycle management.
  • Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.
  • Level of German – from Intermediate+ and above.
