Andersen is hiring a Junior Java Developer in Kazakhstan. The role supports building a microservices-based banking platform with features like authentication, biometrics, payments, and secure integrations.
The customer is one of the oldest and most reliable financial institutions in Kazakhstan, operating in the banking sector for over 30 years. It offers a full range of financial services for both individual and corporate clients, including business lending, mortgages, consumer loans, deposits, payment services, and digital banking solutions. The company focuses on reliability, innovation, and sustainable growth, helping clients achieve their financial goals and contributing to the country’s economic development.
The project is focused on designing a microservices-based banking platform for mobile apps and a web admin panel. It includes authentication, biometrics, card tokenization, payments, and integrations with external systems, ensuring secure and scalable interaction through API Gateway, microservices, and Data Lake.
Technology stack: Java, Spring Boot, SQL (PostgreSQL), REST API, JSON, Git, JUnit 5, CI pipelines, Agile/Scrum/Kanban, Jira, Confluence, Figma.
Responsibilities
- Implementing functionality in Java/Spring Boot microservices under the guidance of a middle-level developer.
- Working with databases and caching: CRUD operations, writing simple optimized queries, interacting with PostgreSQL and Redis.
- Performing unit testing (JUnit 5) and participating in integration tests using TestContainers.
- Implementing controllers, DTOs, and mappers, ensuring compliance with OpenAPI contracts.
- Writing Dockerfiles, participating in image building, and performing local testing in containers.
- Adding logs, basic metrics, and health checks using Spring Actuator.
- Fixing static analysis findings and participating in code reviews.
Requirements
- Experience as a Java Developer for 6+ months.
- Basic proficiency in Java and experience with Spring Boot.
- Ability to write simple SQL queries (SELECT/INSERT/UPDATE), understanding of indexes; PostgreSQL preferred.
- Experience designing simple REST APIs and working with JSON.
- Git skills: branching, pull requests, conflict resolution.
- Understanding of unit testing and experience writing tests using JUnit 5 and basic mocking.
- Ability to run CI pipelines.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies.
- Experience working with Jira, Confluence, and Figma.
- Level of English – from Intermediate and above.
