Summary

Andersen is hiring a Junior DevOps Engineer (Azure) to help build and operate scalable cloud infrastructure, focusing on automation, observability, CI/CD, and reliable Azure-based services.

The customer is a global technology and consulting company specializing in digital transformation, software engineering, and product development. With deep expertise in Salesforce, SAP, Microsoft, and cloud solutions, it delivers tailored projects across industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and consumer goods. The project is focused on building and operating a reliable cloud infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on observability, automation, and performance. It involves improving availability and scalability of cloud-based services through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD automation, container orchestration, and SRE best practices in an Azure environment.

Technology stack: Azure Cloud, Terraform (IaC), Linux, Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, ELK, CI/CD (Azure DevOps), Bash, Python, DevSecOps.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, building, and maintaining Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless scalability to support large numbers of concurrent users.
  • Developing advanced observability solutions, including monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively detect and resolve issues.
  • Using Terraform to manage and provision Azure infrastructure following IaC best practices ensuring consistency, reliability, and repeatability.
  • Working extensively with Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes to deploy, orchestrate, and manage containerized applications at scale.
  • Continuously improving operational processes, making deployments, upgrades, and infrastructure changes more automated, predictable, and efficient.
  • Collaborating daily with development teams, influencing architectural decisions and providing guidance on cloud-native, scalable, and reliable system design.
  • Participating in the on-call rotation, responding to high-impact incidents and supporting engineering teams in critical situations.
  • Implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (or equivalent tools) to streamline and standardize the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Ensuring security, compliance, and governance, implementing Azure policies and adopting DevSecOps practices throughout the engineering ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an SRE, DevOps Engineer, or Cloud Engineer in a production environment for 1+ years.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Azure cloud services and architecture.
  • Deep knowledge of Terraform and IaC principles.
  • Strong skills in Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes (AKS experience is a plus).
  • Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, ELK, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, ideally with Azure DevOps.
  • Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar).
  • Experience participating in or managing on-call rotations and incident response.
  • Knowledge of security principles, cloud governance, and DevSecOps best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate.
