Summary

Andersen is hiring an Integration Engineer (Java) to join its team for working with a company from the UAE. This position requires on-site in the Abu Dhabi office, but we are also open to considering candidates from other countries for relocation.

The customer is a public-sector organization responsible for advancing digital innovation and modernizing services across multiple domains. It supports strategic initiatives in emerging technologies, collaborates with industry and research partners, and develops long-term technology frameworks for improving operational efficiency and service accessibility. The organization focuses on secure, scalable, and sustainable digital development to drive continuous improvement within the broader ecosystem.

The project focuses on digital transformation in the UAE to develop and support digital solutions, enhance social services, strengthen public engagement, advance international relations, and optimize administrative processes.

Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining REST/gRPC APIs (Spring Boot/FastAPI) with versioning, validation, and robust error handling.
  • Securing APIs with Keycloak/AD/ADFS (OIDC/SAML); apply RBAC, rate limiting, and policies via Kong/WSO2.
  • Designing and optimizing Oracle/PostgreSQL schemas and queries.
  • Working ChatOps workflows and operates with notification configs (SMTP (DKIM/SPF/DMARC), SMPP gateways, and push (APNs/FCM or self-hosted); managing templates/localization).
  • Implementing ETL/ELT/Batch and CDC.
  • Using Elasticsearch/Elastic APM for search, tracing, and log analytics.
  • Configuring CDNs (CloudFront/Cloudflare/Fastly/Akamai) for static/API edge caching: TTLs, cache keys, invalidations; enabling WAF/DDoS.
  • Maintaining concise docs: OpenAPI specs, DB schemas, CDN/notification configs, etc.

Requirements

  • Experience building microservices with Spring Boot and FastAPI for 3+ years.
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL, Oracle Database, and Elasticsearch for 3+ years.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and operating a CDN (e.g., CloudFront, Cloudflare, Fastly, Akamai) for static assets and API edge caching.
  • Experience with API gateways (e.g., Kong, WSO2) and Identity Providers/Brokers (e.g., Keycloak, Active Directory/ADFS).
  • Strong expertise in microservices and API development, including REST/gRPC design and implementation.
  • Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
  • Solid knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, including Oracle (PL/SQL), PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, MongoDB, and caching technologies such as Redis and Firebase.
  • Experience in API management, design, and documentation using OpenAPI 3.x (Swagger, Swagger UI/Editor).
  • Experience with observability and search tools, including the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
  • Proficiency in Git and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps Repos and Pipelines.
  • Experience implementing ETL/ELT integrations using Apache Airflow, Airbyte, Apache Spark, including incremental loads/CDC, scheduling, retries, and idempotency patterns.
  • Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.

Desired skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Hands-on integration experience with Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2 (PL/SQL, public APIs, Oracle Adapter usage).
  • Strong expertise in WebLogic Server administration for SOA deployments.
  • Experience with Rocket.Chat administration and ChatOps workflows.
  • Experience with running self-hosted Appwrite (auth, functions, webhooks, backups).
  • Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm for containerized deployments.
  • Practical experience with TypeScript and/or Go.
