Data Engineer + DataOps (EU)

Summary

Andersen is hiring a Data Engineer + DataOps in the EU for a project developing a digital payments platform, supporting data pipelines, scalability, and optimized checkout experiences.

The customer is a fast-growing fintech company providing digital payment solutions and financial services for the e-commerce sector. It offers an integrated platform with flexible payment options, enabling merchants to improve conversion rates and enhance customer experience. The company focuses on scalable, data-driven solutions and continuously evolves its technology to support business growth and operational efficiency across multiple market

The project is focused on developing and enhancing digital payments and checkout platform for e-commerce. It enables flexible post-delivery payments, secure transaction confirmation, and optimized checkout experiences, helping merchants increase conversions and improve customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines using Snowflake, dbt, and Apache Airflow.
• Developing and optimizing transformation logic with dbt, ensuring modular, testable, and documented models.
• Orchestrating workflows with Airflow, including DAG development, scheduling, and monitoring.
• Managing containerized workloads and infrastructure using Kubernetes on AWS.
• Provisioning and maintaining cloud infrastructure as code with Terraform.
• Implementing CI/CD pipelines for data applications, dbt deployments, and infrastructure changes.
• Writing production-grade Python code for custom operators, data processing, and integrations
• Authoring complex SQL queries for data modeling, transformations, and performance optimization
• Setting up monitoring, logging, and alerting for pipelines and infrastructure to ensure reliability and scalability
• Optimizing Snowflake performance and warehouse usage for cost efficiency
• Collaborating with data scientists to provide reliable, well-structured datasets
• Taking ownership of technical solutions, troubleshoot issues, and proactively propose improvements to existing pipelines and infrastructure.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer / DataOps Engineer for 3+ years.
• Strong expertise in data engineering tools: Snowflake, dbt, Airflow.
• Hands-on experience with DataOps practices and tools: Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver solutions with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and other engineers.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.
