Summary

Andersen is hiring a Data Engineer to enhance a business-critical SaaS platform for insurance analytics, coordinating the team and improving delivery processes.

The customer is a global professional services company specializing in consulting, risk management, and business solutions. Operating across international markets helps clients improve efficiency, manage challenges, and implement strategic initiatives. The project is focused on developing and enhancing data-driven solutions within a global advisory and consulting environment. It supports risk management, workforce engagement, and performance optimization through technology-enabled platforms and advanced analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and production of data solutions based on PoC results, including MCP (.NET) tool components and supporting services.
  • Designing and implementing data models for analytical and ML outputs, including datasets generated by Azure Machine Learning.
  • Modeling and structuring distribution outputs and calculation datasets for downstream analytics and reporting.
  • Analyzing and transforming semi-structured (JSON) data from Azure Cosmos DB into optimized analytical schemas.
  • Building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake.
  • Supporting productionizaton of AI data pipelines, including ingestion and processing of AI-generated data (e.g., Radar Vision outputs).
  • Ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance of data pipelines in line with SLAs.
  • Collaborating with .NET and platform teams to integrate data solutions into the Azure ecosystem.
  • Contributing to evolution of data architecture (SQL-based, Lakehouse, Delta) based on implementation experience.
  • Documenting data models, pipelines, and technical decisions; communicating results to engineering and product stakeholders.
  • Participating in knowledge sharing and supporting the adoption of AI-driven data use cases.

Requirements

  • Experience in data engineering for 5+ years.
  • Strong practical experience with Azure Cosmos DB (SQL API), including data modeling, partitioning strategies, querying JSON data, and limitations related to joins and analytical workloads.
  • Advanced SQL skills and strong hands-on experience with relational databases (Azure SQL Database or SQL Server), including (schema design and normalization, performance tuning, designing star/flat schemas, converting semi-structured JSON data into relational tables).
  • Proven experience building ETL/ELT pipelines in Azure, particularly using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
  • Hands-on experience with Azure data services, such as (Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Azure Storage (Blob / Data Lake) optionally Synapse or Databricks).
  • Experience migrating or transforming data architectures (e.g., Cosmos → SQL, JSON → relational).
  • Level of English: from Upper-Intermediate+ and above.

Desired skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric (Warehouse, Lakehouse, Delta Lake, or Fabric Data Factory).
  • Understanding of SaaS architectures, single-region cloud environments and availability considerations.
  • Experience designing data models suitable for Power BI or other analytical engines.
  • Experience participating in or running Proof-of-Concept migrations and presenting evaluation results.
  • Awareness of compliance/security considerations (GDPR, backup/DR), even if not implementing them directly.
