SAP Basis Engineer in the EU

Summary

Andersen is hiring a SAP Basis Engineer in the EU for a project modernizing SAP landscapes, supporting HANA migrations, cloud architecture, and system stability.

The customer is a large international technology provider delivering end-to-end digital solutions for enterprise-level organizations. The project is focused on managing and modernizing complex SAP system landscapes for large-scale enterprise environments. It includes HANA migrations, hybrid cloud architecture design, and implementation of integration technologies to ensure high availability, operational stability, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

• Designing technical solutions for complex SAP landscapes, including sizing, high-availability, and disaster recovery scenarios.
• Planning and executing OS/DB migrations, Unicode migrations, HANA transformations, and EHP upgrades.
• Implementing and configuring Edge Integration Cell environments and hybrid cloud solutions.
• Performing downtime-minimized OS patching of complex landscapes using Pacemaker and HANA systems.
• Managing SAP system operations, including database upgrades (HANA, ASE), kernel updates, and transport management.
• Providing technical advice to customers regarding the planning and integration of new SAP systems and architectures.
• Monitoring performance, tuning systems, analyzing errors, and preparing operational documentation.
• Handling SAP Security Patch Tuesday updates and implementing backup/recovery concepts.

Requirements

• Experience in SAP Basis environments within heterogeneous landscapes for 5+ years.
• In-depth expertise in SAP HANA and ASE database administration, including installation and replication.
• Extensive experience in planning and implementing technical SAP projects such as DB/OS migrations and SAP upgrades.
• Proficient knowledge of Linux (SLES) operating systems and Unix shell programming.
• Strong experience with high-availability solutions, specifically using Pacemaker and HANA System Replication.
• Fluent communication skills for technical exchange with experts and customer-facing negotiations.
• Solid understanding of IT infrastructure components including storage, backup, network, and virtualization.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.
• Level of German – from Intermediate+ and above.
