Summary

Andersen is hiring a Data Engineer for a project building a graph analytics platform to support data-driven insights, risk analysis, fraud detection, and business intelligence.

The customer is a financial institution providing a wide range of services for individual and corporate clients. The company is undergoing an active digital transformation, focusing on mobile and online banking, modernization of legacy systems, and implementation of scalable architectures. It is also investing in fintech solutions, API integrations, and the development of ecosystem-driven products, while continuously improving engineering practices and development processes.

The project is focused on building a graph analytics platform that transforms banking data into interconnected relationship models. It enables advanced analysis of customer and transaction networks, anomaly detection, risk assessment, and identification of hidden connections to support compliance, AML, fraud detection, and business analytics initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines for the Graph Analytics platform, including data ingestion from banking sources, graph model preparation, tokenized data processing, and integration with AWS services.
  • Developing data ingestion pipelines from Oracle DB, Parquet files, operational banking systems, and payment data sources.
  • Building batch-processing workflows for handling large-scale datasets.
  • Integrating with AWS Glue, Apache Spark, Amazon S3, and Amazon Neptune.
  • Configuring data exchange between the bank’s on-premises systems and AWS environments.
  • Preparing data for graph modeling, including nodes, relationships, and attributes.
  • Loading and managing data in Amazon Neptune.
  • Supporting use cases related to relationship analysis, transaction chain analysis, and anomaly detection.
  • Preparing datasets for Neptune ML.
  • Integrating data pipelines with tokenization and detokenization services.
  • Ensuring the processing of sensitive data in a tokenized format.
  • Configuring batch data processing in compliance with security requirements.
  • Ensuring the integrity and consistency between tokenized and original data within the bank’s secure environment.
  • Validating data quality, completeness, and consistency.
  • Implementing logging, monitoring, and error-handling mechanisms for data pipelines.
  • Optimizing the performance of ETL/ELT processes.
  • Preparing and maintaining technical documentation covering data flows, data structures, and processing rules.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Data Engineer for 4+ years.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with Python.
  • Experience designing and developing ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Practical experience with Apache Spark.
  • Experience working with AWS Glue or similar data processing tools.
  • Experience with Amazon S3 or other data lake storage solutions.
  • Experience integrating data from Oracle DB, Parquet files, and batch data sources.
  • Solid understanding of Data Quality, Data Lineage, and sensitive data processing principles.
  • Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ is preferred.
  • Experience with graph databases such as Amazon Neptune, Neo4j, or similar solutions is preferred.
  • Understanding of data tokenization and detokenization principles is preferred.
  • Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.
