Summary

Andersen is hiring a PLC Engineer (Siemens) for a project modernizing industrial automation systems and improving efficiency, reliability, and performance of production processes.

The project is focused on the automation and modernization of steel and metals production processes. It includes designing and validating industrial control solutions, integrating PLC/SCADA systems with manufacturing and enterprise platforms, and supporting commissioning activities to ensure reliable and efficient plant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and modifying PLC software for steel/metals lines (downstream/process lines).
  • Performing detailed engineering: logic, sequences, interlocks, diagnostics, signal handling.
  • Integrating with SCADA/HMI and Level 2 (signals/tags/handshakes); supporting FAT/SAT.
  • Troubleshooting and supporting commissioning (remote/on-site as required).
  • Maintaining technical documentation (changes, logic description, I/O, test scenarios).

Requirements

  • Proven PLC engineering experience in Siemens stack for 3+ years.
  • Hands-on with TIA Portal / Step7 -Experience with S7-300/400/1500.
  • Knowledge of IEC 61131-3 languages (LD/ST/FBD/SFC).
  • Profinet/Profibus experience.
  • Commissioning mindset and practical troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to work with standards/guidelines and keep project quality/maintainability high.
  • Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.

Desired skills

  • Steel/metals industry experience.
  • Drives/VFD and safety experience (if applicable).
  • Experience collaborating closely with SCADA (WinCC) and Level 2 teams.
