SCADA / HMI Engineer

Summary

Andersen is hiring a SCADA / HMI Engineer for a project modernizing industrial automation systems and improving efficiency, reliability, and control of production processes.

The project is focused on the automation and modernization of steel and metals production processes. It includes designing and validating industrial control solutions, integrating PLC/SCADA systems with manufacturing and enterprise platforms, and supporting commissioning activities to ensure reliable and efficient plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining SCADA/HMI, including screens, navigation, user roles, and operational logic.
• Configuring and managing alarms, trends, and historian integrations where applicable.
• Implementing and supporting communications via OPC UA/DA and/or direct PLC drivers, and tag management solutions.
• Participating in system testing, validation, and commissioning activities.
• Troubleshooting runtime issues related to alarms, trends, tag updates, communications, and system performance.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Siemens SCADA/HMI for 3+ years.
• Experience working with Siemens WinCC / VSS II.
• Understanding of OPC UA/DA and practical experience troubleshooting connectivity issues.
• Experience with alarms/trends (historian experience is strongly preferred).
• Understanding of PLC–SCADA interactions, including tag management, data quality, and diagnostics.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.

Desired skills

• Experience with SCADA/HMI scripting using C# and/or VBScript.
• Background in steel, metals, or other heavy industries.
• Experience supporting distributed SCADA setups, including server/client architectures, user roles, and release management processes.
