VMware ESXi / Virtualization Engineer

Summary

Andersen is hiring a VMware ESXi / Virtualization Engineer for a project modernizing industrial systems and ensuring reliable, scalable infrastructure for production environments.

The project is focused on the automation and modernization of steel and metals production processes. It includes designing and validating industrial control solutions, integrating PLC/SCADA systems with manufacturing and enterprise platforms, and supporting commissioning activities to ensure reliable and efficient plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Administering virtualization: VMware ESXi / vSphere / vCenter.
• Provisioning and maintaining virtual machines for engineering environments, including templates, access management, updates, and lifecycle operations.
• Handling basic virtual networking components and cooperating with network engineers on VLANs/port groups, and routing-related activities.
• Ensuring system stability and performance, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining technical documentation.
• Supporting and advising on VMware-to-Proxmox migration initiatives, including assessments, planning, and migration steps where required.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience administering VMware ESXi/vSphere/vCenter for 3+ years.
• Experience provisioning virtual machines for engineering/project environments.
• Basic networking knowledge (L2/L3) sufficient for troubleshooting and configuration within virtualization scope.
• Understanding of operational requirements in industrial environments, including reliability, access control, and change management.
• Experience working in OT (Operational Technology) or Industrial IT environments.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.

Desired skills

• Experience with PowerShell / PowerCLI.
• Experience performing VMware upgrades and migrations.
• Hands-on experience with Proxmox.
