Summary

The international IT-company Andersen invites an experienced Java Developer to join its team for working on the project in the field of Insurance.

The customer is a German company, a leader in the global reinsurance market. It is the only company in the world specializing in digital software solutions for the medical industry. It offers financial protection when faced with exceptional levels of damage: from earthquake to hurricane season. The company has more than 4,000 clients in more than 160 countries.

The project is the development and maintenance of software products, providing new solutions for the automation of business processes and underwriting in the insurance industry.

Technology stack: Java, Spring Framework, Swing, Oracle DB, SQL Server, MySQL, MS Azure Cloud, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Participating in a full software development lifecycle including analysis, estimation, design, development and integration.
• Collaborating with technical architects, solution architects, business analysts and product management to develop business and technical requirements and designs to deliver high quality product services.
• Developing and maintaining API services and interactive web applications working across the full application and data stack.
• Developing software prototypes, evaluating emerging software technologies, and evaluating third party solutions.
• Following and promoting software engineering best practices.
• Contributing to the knowledge base.
• Expanding and maintaining the knowledge base so that it is always up to date.
• Contributing to estimates precision and sustainability with continuous improvement, based on experience and technical expertise.

Requirements

• Experience as a Java Developer for 3+ years.
• Experience with Spring Framework.
• Experience with Java Swing.
• Practical experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Web, Spring Security.
• Basic understanding of security concepts: encryption, secure application development, defensive programming, software vulnerabilities and exploits, general issues in web security.
• Ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Oracle DB, SQL Server and MySQL.
• Basic knowledge of MS Azure Cloud concepts and native components.
• Experienced user of CI/CD best practices including setting up non-disruptive release deployment models, e.g. blue-green deployments, canary-based releases, etc.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.

Desired skills

• Experience migrating "Lift&Shift" based MS Azure solutions to native Cloud implementations.
• Experience with C4 diagramming.
• Experience in designing software architecture.
• Experience with Postgres.
• Exposure to software testing techniques.
