System Engineer (DevOps)

Summary

The IT company Andersen invites an experienced System Engineer (DevOps) in Almaty or Astana to join its team for working on a project in the field of Information Technology.

The customer is an international passenger and cargo transportation service. It is among the top 3 mobile services for ordering rides in the world: 150 million installations, 1 billion trips, 600+ cities in 45 countries.

The project involves creating an infrastructure solution for acquiring and managing up to 1 million records daily from external sources, accessible via a public API, using Go, Python, and relational databases, with container orchestration, CI/CD and system monitoring.

Technology stack: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions), Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Infrastructure security (IAM, VPN, WAF), Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi, AWS services.

Responsibilities

• Optimizing existing infrastructure.
• Implementing or improving CI/CD processes.
• Migrating current services to a more resilient and scalable platform.
• Enhancing monitoring and alerting.
• Strengthening security measures.

Requirements

• Experience working as a DevOps Engineer for 4+ years.
• Deep knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Experience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions).
• Proficiency with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar).
• Skills in infrastructure security (working with IAM, setting up VPN, WAF, etc.).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi).
• Knowledge of AWS services and how to configure them.
• Level of English – Intermediate+ or above.

Desired skills

• Knowledge of DevOps processes specific to high-load systems.
• Experience in migrating systems and services without significant downtime.
• Understanding of best practices in DevSecOps.
