Junior QA Automation Engineer (JavaScript)

Summary

The IT company Andersen invites a Junior QA Automation Engineer (JavaScript) to work on a large-scale project for one of our European customers.

The customer is a leading learning technology company, dedicated to making high-quality eLearning technology accessible and affordable. With offices in San Francisco, London, Athens, Nicosia, and Heraklion, the company serves thousands of organizations worldwide. The company's products are used by over 70,000 teams globally, including startups, large corporations, and educational institutions.

The project is the development of a cloud-based learning management system, tailored for small and medium-sized businesses.

Responsibilities

• Working alongside fellow engineers in a small cross-functional squad with specific scopes and goals.
• Collaborating with other QA engineers as part of the QA chapter.
• Collaborating with squad and chapter leads to orchestrate and prioritize test automation tailored to your squad's needs.
• Contributing to enhancing test automation frameworks, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts using industry-standard automation tools and frameworks.
• Analyzing test results and working closely with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Performing manual testing when necessary.

Requirements

• Experience in working with web, mobile, or API test automation for 6+ months.
• Proficiency in JavaScript.
• Knowledge of quality assurance principles, techniques, and tools.
• Experience with Cypress.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Passionate about shift-left testing, modern testing principles, automation best practices, and agile testing.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.

Desired skills

• BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with using Postman/Swagger.
• Experience with virtualization or containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS, and CI/CD tools like GitHub actions.
• ISTQB foundation/advanced level certification.
