Junior Python Developer with AWS

Summary

Andersen, an international IT company, invites a Junior Python Developer with AWS to work on a project for one of our UK customers.

The customer is a new kind of bank founded in 2016. It focuses on distinct client segments that are underserved by the market, creating innovative products to meet their needs. The company offers white-labeled products with no upfront investment for certain industries and businesses.

The project is focused on enhancing the bank's savings products by managing the savings backlog and providing operational support.

Technology stack on the project: Python, AWS: API Gateway, AWS Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, Amazon SNS, Amazon SQS, Kinesis, RESTful API, Cloud Formation/Terraform, CI/CD, Git.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing the various services and functions using Python and serverless components of the AWS cloud based on provided requirements/tasks specifications.
• Resolving bugs and helping support teams with issues investigations.
• Supporting QA teams and business analysis with the inputs from development.
• Being an essential part of a Kanban-based team (be present on standups, clearly report progress, plans and blockers).
• Reporting issues, progress and potential opportunities to the internal management.

Requirements

• Experience with Python for 1,5+ years.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services, including API Gateway, AWS Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, Amazon SNS, Amazon SQS, Kinesis, for 6+ months.
• Experience with serverless architecture on AWS.
• Basic understanding of security concepts in general and in AWS (IAM permissions).
• Practical experience with CI/CD processes, specifically using CloudFormation/Terraform.
• Experience with RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency in Git Flow, GitHub, and Git Actions.
• Basic dev experience with SQL.
• Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate.

Desired skills

• Higher level experience with SQL.
• Understanding of exception handling in software development.
