QA Automation Engineer (JavaScript)

Summary

The IT company Andersen invites an experienced QA Automation Engineer (JavaScript) to join its team for working with our customer from the UK.

The customer is a company that offers data-driven solutions for people, risk and capital management. Leveraging the global vision and local expertise of colleagues across 140 countries and markets, it helps to sharpen the strategy, improve organizational resilience, motivate people and maximize performance.

The project is focused on cloud/SaaS solutions, upgrading existing products to new technologies and modern UX, as well as developing brand-new applications.

Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, and documenting test environments and frameworks supporting the agreed strategy.
• Working with the Product Owner and the Technical Lead to help define User Stories and acceptance criteria.
• Defining story-level test plans in collaboration with software engineers to achieve high levels of test automation.
• Developing tests at all levels of the testing pyramid – UI, API, system, integration, and unit tests.
• Executing a wide range of functional/non-functional tests, manual and automated.
• Performing exploratory test activities on new features and user stories.
• Reviewing and debugging product and test code to identify defects or performance bottlenecks.
• Supporting the Product Owner to close stories, validating acceptance criteria and defect fixes.
• Analysing test data and producing test reports for relevant checkpoints or milestones.
• Participating in Agile/scrum activities (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives), striving to continuously improve the team velocity, its processes and engineering practices.
• Participating in software design meetings and working with software engine.

Requirements

• Experience as a QA Automation Engineer for 3+ years.
• Proven experience in working in software quality assurance roles within an Agile environment.
• Experience with Cypress.
• Strong understanding of software testing, its main concepts, and processes: different testing levels, methods, and types; test estimation techniques.
• Strong software development skills using TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience in developing tests at integration, component, and unit test levels.
• Ability to review requirements and structure appropriate test plans.
• Manual (scripted and exploratory) test experience.
• Test automation scripting experience at UI and API levels.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.

Desired skills

• Experience working on complex full-stack cloud-based web and SaaS applications.
• Experience using C#.
• Experience with software project management tools (Azure DevOps, Jira).
• Exposure to behavior driven development (BDD) and test-driven development (TDD).
