Lead QA Engineer

Summary

The international IT company Andersen invites a Lead QA Engineer to work on a large-scale project for one of our USA customers.

The customer is a global corporate travel payment solution owned and operated by the world’s airlines. The network consists of major airlines that issue charge cards accepted by thousands of merchants around the world for air, rail, cruise and travel agency payments.

The project is the development of a corporate travel payment network, integrating systems like PayPal, Visa, and MasterCard to enable secure, seamless, and efficient financial transactions.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizing testing tasks in alignment with sprint goals and business impact.
• Estimating testing effort for features, bugs, and regression cycles.
• Assigning testing tasks based on team capacity, skillset, and project needs.
• Tracking and reporting on test execution status, defect trends, and release readiness.
• Monitoring key quality metrics (e.g., defect density, test coverage, pass/fail rates).
• Providing regular updates to stakeholders and escalating risks proactively.
• Reviewing test cases for completeness, clarity, and alignment with requirements.
• Ensuring consistency and adherence to test design standards.
• Maintaining high-quality test assets across manual and automated suites.
• Working closely with Product Owners, Developers, and Scrum Masters to clarify requirements and ensure testability.
• Participating in Agile ceremonies (e.g., planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives).
• Overseeing defect lifecycle: triage, tracking, retesting, and closure.
• Ensuring proper severity/priority classification and prompt resolution.
• Coordinating test environment readiness and availability.
• Ensuring test data is valid, reusable, and compliant with data policies.
• Identifying and implementing process improvements in QA practices.
• Promoting reusable components, automation strategies, and knowledge sharing.
• Providing guidance and mentoring to QA team members.
• Fostering a culture of quality ownership and continuous learning.

Requirements

• Experience in QA for 4+ years.
• Strong API testing experience.
• Solid knowledge of QA processes, test planning, and defect tracking.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and test management tools.
• Understanding of QA metrics and test documentation standards.
• Agile/Scrum experience.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to estimate, prioritize, and assign tasks.
• Experience mentoring QA team members.
• Familiarity with test environments and data management.
• Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.

Desired skills

• Experience in a lead/senior role for 1+ year.
• CI/CD and SQL knowledge.
• Automation experience.
