Frontend Developer (Angular)

Summary

Andersen is looking for a Frontend Developer (Angular) for a Canadian travel tech project. The role focuses on improving a web platform for booking services in the North American market.

The customer is a luxury travel technology and procurement company with industry-leading booking platforms that enhance the efficiency of travel professionals and maximize their revenue opportunities. The company handles over $1 billion in transactions annually and has a team of over 1600 travel experts. With a proprietary technology stack built entirely in-house, the company offers solutions that streamline booking processes, enhance profitability, and provide direct access to exclusive net-rate and commissionable travel products.

The project is an actual web platform (travel services industry) for clients in the North American market.

Responsibilities

• Owning and driving the development of complex frontend features and modules using Angular.
• Refactoring, optimizing, and modernizing existing codebases to improve performance and maintainability.
• Collaborating with UI/UX designers to implement responsive, pixel-perfect user interfaces.
• Ensuring consistent use of Angular best practices, including component-based architecture and state management with RxJS.
• Implementing robust HTTP communication using interceptors and guards to support secure, scalable applications.
• Writing clean, testable, and well-documented code.
• Performing peer code reviews and providing constructive feedback.
• Investigating and resolving production issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks.
• Participating in technical discussions, architecture planning, and decision-making.
• Staying current with Angular and frontend trends and proactively suggesting improvements.

Requirements

• Experience in frontend development with strong focus on Angular (v8+) and TypeScript, for 5+ years.
• Solid understanding of RxJS, including BehaviorSubject, event-driven data sharing, and reactive patterns.
• Proven experience with HTTP interceptors, route guards, and Angular dependency injection.
• Strong command of JavaScript/TypeScript fundamentals, including ES6+ features.
• Ability to break down legacy code and re-architect features for scalability and clarity.
• Confident working with RESTful APIs and interpreting API documentation.
• Familiarity with DOM manipulation using ViewChild, ElementRef, and Angular selectors.
• Experience writing and maintaining unit tests (Jasmine, Karma) and e2e tests (Cypress, Protractor).
• Good understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with designers and product stakeholders.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.
