Andersen is hiring a Software Architect for a telecom project in Kazakhstan. The role focuses on supporting BSS system transformation and vendor selection to improve business processes and IT systems.

The project is focused on supporting the client in the strategic transformation of its BSS system, including the preparation and execution of a full-cycle RFP process to select a new vendor. The goal is to enhance business flexibility, optimize operational processes, and modernize the IT landscape through a structured and expert-driven vendor selection approach.

Responsibilities

• Validating system architecture and integrations.
• Assessing the architecture of vendor software components (monolith/microservices, APIs, SDKs, extensibility, modular customization logic, abstraction level, and reusability).
• Defining architectural requirements: scalability, modularity, and extensibility.
• Supporting the architectural section of the ToR (Terms of Reference).
• Introducing technical criteria (architectural patterns, development stack, modularity).
• Supporting the evaluation of software architecture maturity.
• Assessing technical demos: implementation of modules, APIs, and extensions.
• Identifying technical debt and potential limitations.
• Creating a GAP analysis for software architecture: identifying areas for improvement and customization risks.
• Supporting effort estimation for adaptation.
• Analyzing the impact of architectural decisions on support and modernization costs.
• Preparing reports on technical advantages and risks of solutions.

Requirements

• Experience as a Software Architect in designing enterprise solutions, preferably in the telecom industry, for 8+ years.
• Experience designing architectures for BSS systems (CRM, Billing, Order Management).
• Strong knowledge of Java/Java EE, Spring and/or .NET.
• Experience developing modular and microservices-based applications.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with architectural approaches: API-first, high availability, scalability.
• Experience working with databases: NoSQL, RDBMS, message brokers, in-memory caches.
• Knowledge of architectural principles: Domain-Driven Design, Clean Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture, SOLID, DRY, CQRS/Event Sourcing (as needed).
• Basic understanding of architectural frameworks such as TOGAF or ArchiMate.
• Level of English – Intermediate+ and above.
