Junior System Analyst (Almaty, Kazakhstan)

Summary

Andersen is looking for a Junior System Analyst in Almaty for a project with Kazakhstan’s largest microfinance organization. The role involves redesigning a service for farmers to improve usability, modernize the interface, and enhance the user experience.

The customer is the largest microfinance organization in Kazakhstan, operating on a classic microfinance model adapted to the local economy. It focuses on financing micro and small businesses, especially in rural areas, and builds long-term client relationships based on trust and mutual respect. The company offers individual and group microloans for business, farming, consumer needs, and goods production, employing around 2,000 people.

The project is a redesign of a service that provides farmers with access to banking services. The goal is to improve usability, modernize the interface, and enhance the overall user experience to better meet the needs of the agricultural sector.

Responsibilities

• Creating project documentation.
• Documenting user and functional requirements in the form of User Stories with clearly defined and detailed acceptance criteria.
• Contributing to the maintenance of the project roadmap.
• Closely collaborating with development teams and supporting them in task execution.
• Designing REST APIs in OpenAPI Specification format (JSON/YAML) and publishing them on the developer portal.
• Performing acceptance testing and maintaining API request collections.
• Working with databases.
• Modelling the domain (entity-relationship diagrams), business processes and algorithms (UML activity diagrams), functional capabilities (UML use case diagrams), and service interactions (UML sequence diagrams).

Requirements

• Experience as a System Analyst for 6+ months.
• Knowledge of mobile development basics, web technologies (HTML, DNS, etc.), and understanding of UX/UI principles.
• Experience with the Camunda platform and the ability to design technical processes.
• Knowledge of integration principles and ability to extract and process data from Kafka.
• Experience with GraphQL (writing queries and interpreting responses).
• Ability to work with databases (PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MongoDB), database administration tools (e.g., DBeaver), and SQL knowledge (SELECT queries).
• Knowledge in the field of business analysis.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum).
• Experience with domain-specific areas and understanding of software and information system design principles.
• Ability to interpret data exchange protocol descriptions (XML/JSON).
• Domain modelling using BPMN and UML notations (including Sequence Diagrams), creating ER diagrams, and basic familiarity with interface design tools (Figma).
• Ability to use Jira as a user (knowledge of main task types, workflows, and accounting rules).
• Ability to decompose tasks, deliver presentations, prepare reports, and work with metrics.
• Level of English – from Intermediate.
