Summary

Andersen is hiring a Python Developer to enhance a loan platform for an agricultural cooperative. The role involves building custom Q2 APIs, extending functionality, and improving payment control.

The customer is an agricultural lending cooperative, serving farmers, ranchers, and rural communities for over 100 years. With 67 locations across 192 counties in Texas the cooperative offers a range of financial services including land loans, operating loans, home loans, equipment loans, and crop insurance. The cooperative aims to enhance the quality of life in rural communities and ensure the sustainability of agricultural operations.

The project aims to enhance a loan platform by building custom Q2 APIs for better payment control and extended functionality. It requires expertise in API development on the Mule platform, close collaboration with the Tech Lead, and use of the Q2 SDK.

Responsibilities

• Coding and implementing backend features and functionality.
• Refactoring and fixing bugs to improve stability and performance.
• Reviewing code and collaborating with developers from the client side and other vendors.
• Collaborating with the Tech Lead on architecture design, conducting design reviews, and participating in demos every 1–2 weeks.
• Self-managing by generating tasks and planning actions to achieve goals.

Requirements

• Experience as a Backend developer for 2+ years.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Hands-on experience with PyQT (crucial) and PyTest.
• Knowledge of Azure API Management and Terraform.
• Experience in building SDKs, plugins, extension points, and adapters/gateways to third-party platforms.
• Solid experience in API development.
• Experience working in distributed teams and with multiple vendors simultaneously.
• Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.

Desired skills

• Experience with MuleSoft (Anypoint Platform, API Manager, runtime/deployments, observability), RAML.
• Experience with fintech/payment integrations: payment statuses, settlement & reconciliation, deferred operations, chargebacks.
