Python Developer

Summary

Andersen is looking for a Python Developer to join a global game publisher on a long-term PC project, building tactical team-based gameplay with historically inspired units.

The customer is a global leader in online game development and publishing with over 20 offices and more than 1,500 employees. Serving an audience of over 200 million players worldwide, the company combines passion, professionalism, and social responsibility to deliver legendary gaming experiences.

The project is a long-running team-based PC game where players engage in tactical combat, controlling historically inspired units and relying on strategy and coordination to achieve victory.

Responsibilities

• Developing and improving internal tools to support the project.
• Implementing server-side logic and backend functionality.
• Designing and optimizing algorithms for efficiency and scalability.
• Working with parallel computations to enhance system performance.
• Maintaining and modernizing legacy Python 2.7 components while developing primarily in Python 3.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration and delivery.
• Contributing to process improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

• Proven experience in game development for 3+ years.
• Proficiency in Python (3.x; familiarity with 2.7 is a plus).
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, computational complexity, and data structures.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles.
• Ability to work independently on complex tasks (Middle+ level).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Level of English – from Intermediate plus and above.

Desired skills

• Experience with C++.
• Experience with game engines (Unreal, Unity, etc).
• Player experience with competitive games.
• Knowledge of lineal algebra and analytic geometry.
• Knowledge of Client-Server architecture.
