Summary

Andersen is hiring a QA Automation Architect (Python) to support online bank, expanding automated test coverage and ensuring quality and stability across its digital payment services.

The customer is a European online bank specializing in credit card and payment solutions for individual clients and business partners. The organization serves a large cardholder base across several European markets and works with multiple partners on co-branded card programs. A focus on scalable digital services and simple, transparent products has supported steady growth in its segment.

The project is focused on testing releases across all of the bank’s digital services, ensuring stability, quality, and seamless user experience. The QA team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the existing testing framework, expanding automated coverage, and continuously improving testing processes to support ongoing product development.

Responsibilities

  • Defining and maintaining the overall test automation architecture, frameworks, and technology stack for UI, API, and end-to-end testing.
  • Evaluating and selecting optimal tools, libraries, and frameworks (e.g. Playwright, Robot Framework, Azure DevOps pipelines) to align with product technology landscape and future scalability.
  • Developing and enforcing coding standards, design patterns, and version control best practices within automation repositories (Git-based workflows).
  • Ensuring seamless integration of automation with CI/CD pipelines and environment provisioning processes.
  • Defining and implementing the automation strategy across teams and projects, including governance, prioritization, and measurable KPIs.
  • Partnering with QA leadership and development teams to shift-left quality, embedding automated checks early in the SDLC.
  • Analyzing current testing processes and proposing continuous improvements in coverage, reliability, and execution time.
  • Leading proofs of concept for new automation tools and approaches, providing technical guidance and recommendations.
  • Collaborating with QA Management to align automation roadmap with organizational quality goals and business priorities.
  • Designing and implementing scalable test frameworks in Python, ensuring modularity and reusability.
  • Overseeing test data management, environment setup, and integration with reporting and analytics tools.
  • Mentoring automation engineers, conducting code reviews, and establishing knowledge-sharing practices across QA community.
  • Collaborating with developers, DevOps, and analysts to identify test gaps and ensure end-to-end system validation.
  • Establishing automation metrics and dashboards to track progress, coverage, and defect trends.
  • Documenting framework architecture, component design, and reusable libraries.
  • Driving alignment with Advanzia’s quality assurance framework and automation governance principles.

Requirements

  • Experience as a QA Engineer for 7+ years, including experience in test automation for 4+ years and in an architecture or technical lead role for 2+ years.
  • Proven track record of designing and scaling test automation frameworks for web and API layers.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Python (Playwright preferable, Selenium acceptable; requests) and automation architecture patterns.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD (Azure DevOps, Jenkins) and version control practices (Git, branching, tagging, reviews).
  • Strong SQL skills with experience across relational databases (MSSQL).
  • Experience in system integration and regression testing for complex, multi-system environments.
  • Familiarity with banking or financial domains, especially credit cards, payments, or core banking systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable QA improvements.
  • Level of English – from Upper-Intermidiate and above.

Desired skills

  • Experience with Temenos Transact or similar core banking systems.
  • Knowledge of Robot Framework, Azure DevOps Test Plans, and pipeline integration.
  • Exposure to cloud-based test orchestration.
  • ISTQB Advanced Level or Robot Framework Certified Professional (RFCP) certification.
  • Experience leading automation strategy across multiple Agile teams (Scrum, SAFe).
