SysOps Engineer

Summary

Andersen is hiring a SysOps Engineer to support and improve monitoring and reliability for a global online trading platform, ensuring stable operation of real-time trading and financial services.

The customer is a diversified international group with a focus on trading, investment management, and financial services. The company provides innovative solutions in liquidity aggregation, social trading, and mobile trading platforms for retail investors. The project is focused on migrating and enhancing the existing monitoring system by improving checks, alerts, and overall visibility across multiple servers to ensure higher reliability. It also supports a retail online trading platform, ensuring stable operation of real-time trading, account management, and related financial services.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing and optimizing existing system setups to ensure performance and reliability.
• Completing the setup of monitoring tools, including configuring authorization, authentication, and access controls.
• Configuring systems based on SLA requirements to ensure proper monitoring coverage.
• Migrating existing monitoring checks to the new system for improved functionality and integration.
• Integrating monitoring systems with metrics, establishing new metrics based on infrastructure, DevOps, and business needs.
• Setting up and configure alarms, notifications, and alerts to ensure proactive issue detection.
• Documenting usage guidelines for monitoring systems, ensuring clarity and consistency in processes.
• Assisting in implementing and preparing standard procedures for service metrics and health checks.
• Configuring and maintaining dashboards for real-time monitoring and visualization of system health.
• Working with Nagios/Thruk, Victoria Metrics, Zabbix, and transition to the Check_mk monitoring system for comprehensive coverage.

Requirements

• Experience as a SysOps/DevOps/SRE with production systems for 2+ years.
• Practical experience in setting up and maintaining monitoring systems (Nagios, Zabbix, experience with check_mk or willingness to migrate).
• Understanding of monitoring principles, metrics, alerting, and observability.
• Experience working with metrics and metric storage systems (VictoriaMetrics, scrapers).
• Ability to configure checks, health checks, and custom metrics for infrastructure and business requirements.
• Experience setting up alerts and notifications considering SLA and severity levels.
• Skills in configuring and maintaining dashboards for technical and business teams.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and understanding of system and network services.
• Experience writing technical documentation, standards, and procedures for monitoring.
• Ability to independently analyze existing solutions and participate in migrating monitoring to a new system (check_mk).
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.
