System Analyst (Almaty, Kazakhstan)

Summary

Andersen is hiring a System Analyst in Almaty to implement retail banking solutions on a unified platform, adapting standard modules to business needs and ensuring seamless integration with core systems.

The customer is a large financial institution serving millions of retail and corporate clients. It combines a broad physical presence with strong investment in digital platforms, mobile solutions, data infrastructure, cybersecurity, and open integrations. Technology is central to improving customer experience and scaling modern banking services.

The project is focused on implementing retail banking solutions on a unified banking platform, adapting standard functionality to support retail business processes. It includes configuration, customization, and rollout of ready-made modules to ensure efficient integration and alignment with the bank’s operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Identifying product and business needs.
• Developing and maintaining technical documentation.
• Analyzing product use cases and tasks.
• Performing system analysis during the development of new APIs and services.
• Creating business process descriptions in BPMN.
• Defining and managing the project/task backlog.
• Participating in project communications with clients, including integration activities.
• Communicating with banking, IT and business departments.

Requirements

• Experience as a System Analyst for 2+ years.
• Relevant experience in fintech / retail banking for 2+ years.
• Domain areas: lending, scoring, cards, KYC/AML, client identification/verification.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven integrations.
• Experience in backend system analysis as the primary source of business logic, including APIs, contracts, and data processing rules.
• Ability to work effectively in conditions of uncertainty.
• Strong communication skills when working with business stakeholders and development teams.
• Ability to independently research and explore domains.
• Ability to manage multiple features in parallel.
• Skills in gathering, analyzing, and documenting requirements.
• Experience working with Jira and Confluence.
• Experience working with Agile / Scrum / Kanban methodologies.
• Experience writing documentation (BRD, SRS, UML diagrams, BPMN).
• Understanding of integration principles: HTTP, REST, SOAP.
• Ability to work with XML, JSON, UML, BPMN, DBMS (Oracle, PostgreSQL – basic skills), Postman, and Swagger.
• Level of English – from Intermediate and above.
