System Analyst (Almaty, Kazakhstan)

Summary

Andersen is hiring a System Analyst in Almaty to develop and maintain core banking services, creating a foundation for other teams to build upon while enhancing customer experience and scalability.

The customer is a large financial institution serving millions of retail and corporate clients. It combines a broad physical presence with strong investment in digital platforms, mobile solutions, data infrastructure, cybersecurity, and open integrations. Technology is central to improving customer experience and scaling modern banking services.

The project is focused on developing, evolving, and maintaining the core banking services that form the foundation for all other teams. The team is responsible for creating a base layer of products and technologies, enabling other departments to build upon it without delving into the fundamental processes.

Responsibilities

• Gathering, analyzing, and formalizing business requirements (BRD → FRD → NFR).
• Designing system solutions (AS-IS / TO-BE).
• Describing functional and non-functional requirements.
• Preparing Use Cases / User Stories.
• Creating UML, BPMN, Sequence, and Component diagrams.
• Working on integrations: REST / SOAP APIs, Webhooks, queues (Kafka / RabbitMQ – preferred).
• Participating in architectural decisions alongside the Tech Lead / Architect.
• Supporting the development team: clarifying requirements, participating in refinement / grooming sessions.
• Validating implementation: Acceptance Criteria, supporting QA (test cases, scenarios).
• Managing requirement changes.

Requirements

• Experience as a System / Business Analyst for 3+ years.
• Deep understanding of Client-Server architecture and microservices architecture.
• Proficient in UML, BPMN 2.0.
• Experience working with APIs: Swagger / OpenAPI, Postman.
• Strong SQL skills (complex queries, JOIN, GROUP BY, subqueries).
• Knowledge of SDLC and Agile / Scrum / Kanban methodologies.
• Experience with tools: Jira / Confluence, Miro / Draw.io / Visio.
• Experience in fintech, banking, or working with high-load systems.
• Understanding of OAuth2.
• Experience with event-driven architecture.
• Basic knowledge of Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience collaborating with Backend (Java / .NET) and Frontend (Flutter / Web).
• Level of English – from Intermediate and above.

Desired skills

• Understanding of JWT, Idempotency, retries.
