Backend Developer (Node.js)

Summary

Andersen is hiring a Backend Developer (Node.js) for a project developing and enhancing a digital lending platform that supports the full lifecycle of credit services and financial operations.

The customer is a prominent financial institution in Central Asia, offering a wide range of services to individuals and businesses. With a focus on digital transformation, the company leverages advanced technologies to enhance efficiency, security, and customer experience. It invests in modern infrastructure, including cloud solutions, data centers, and cybersecurity measures, to support its growing operations and meet client needs.

The project is focused on developing and enhancing the bank’s credit platform that supports the full lending lifecycle. It covers processes from loan application and approval to credit management and debt collection, ensuring reliable and scalable digital lending services.

Responsibilities

• Designing the architecture of backend services and individual subsystems for a banking product.
• Developing and maintaining backend applications using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Designing and implementing REST APIs and WebSocket services for internal and external systems.
• Participating in architectural discussions and decision-making, conducting technical research and A/B testing approaches.
• Preparing and maintaining architectural documentation (RFC, ADR).
• Designing and implementing solutions using DDD, CQRS, Event Sourcing, and the BFF approach.
• Integrating services with databases, message brokers, and caching systems.
• Ensuring the security of backend services (authentication, authorization, API protection).
• Containerizing services and participating in preparing infrastructure for deployment.
• Conducting code reviews and mentoring developers within the team.

Requirements

• Commercial backend development experience with Node.js (18+) and TypeScript for 3+ years.
• Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript/TypeScript (ES6+, async/await, generics, utility types).
• Experience developing services using Express.js or NestJS.
• Deep understanding of architectural principles such as DDD, CQRS, Event Sourcing, and microservices architecture.
• Experience developing and documenting REST APIs, working with WebSockets and OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Experience working with MongoDB and PostgreSQL/MySQL, including query and index optimization.
• Practical experience working with ORM tools (TypeORM, Prisma, or Sequelize) and migration management.
• Experience using Redis and message brokers (Kafka or RabbitMQ).
• Experience containerizing applications (Docker, docker-compose) and understanding Kubernetes.
• Practical experience setting up observability: metrics, logging, and monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, health checks).
• Level of English – from Intermediate and above.
