Backend Developer (Node.js)

Summary

Andersen is hiring a Backend Developer (Node.js) for a project developing and enhancing a digital lending platform that supports the full lifecycle of credit services and financial operations.

The customer is a prominent financial institution in Central Asia, offering a wide range of services to individuals and businesses. With a focus on digital transformation, the company leverages advanced technologies to enhance efficiency, security, and customer experience. It invests in modern infrastructure, including cloud solutions, data centers, and cybersecurity measures, to support its growing operations and meet client needs.

The project is focused on developing and enhancing the bank’s credit platform that supports the full lending lifecycle. It covers processes from loan application and approval to credit management and debt collection, ensuring reliable and scalable digital lending services.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing REST APIs and WebSocket interactions for internal and external banking systems.
• Participating in defining API contracts, data formats, and integration solutions.
• Working with relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases: schema design, writing complex queries, and optimization.
• Implementing business logic using modern frameworks (NestJS / Express.js).
• Configuring and using message queues (Kafka / RabbitMQ) for asynchronous service communication.
• Participating in code reviews, refactoring, and improving code quality.
• Writing unit and integration tests, API testing.
• Containerizing applications and setting up environments using Docker and docker-compose.
• Monitoring, logging, and ensuring service reliability (metrics, health checks, error handling).

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Node.js (18+) and TypeScript, knowledge of ES6+ (async/await, destructuring, optional chaining, nullish coalescing).
• Understanding the Event Loop, experience working with Worker Threads and Streams.
• Experience with NestJS or Express.js (middleware, guards, interceptors, pipes).
• Experience in developing REST APIs and WebSocket services (Socket.io).
• Experience with PostgreSQL (complex queries, window functions, indexing) and MongoDB (aggregations, indexing, transactions, replication).
• Experience with ORMs (TypeORM / Prisma / Sequelize): migrations, relations, transactions.
• Experience with Redis (caching, pub/sub).
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms (JWT, OAuth2, RBAC), understanding of security principles (CORS, CSRF, rate limiting).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, multi-stage builds, docker-compose) and message queues (Kafka / RabbitMQ).
• Experience in API documentation (Swagger / OpenAPI), writing tests (Jest / Mocha, Supertest, TestContainers), as well as setting up monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana) and logging.
• Level of English – from Intermediate and above.

Desired skills

• Experience working with GraphQL (Apollo / TypeGraphQL).
• Basic knowledge of Kubernetes (Deployments, Services).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP: Lambda, S3, SQS).
