Summary

Andersen is hiring a DevOps L2 Infrastructure Support Engineer in UAE for a project ensuring stability, security, and support of enterprise systems with incident management and root cause analysis.

The customer is a technology company operating in a regulated domain, focusing on data processing, analytics, and risk management solutions. It develops advanced tools to analyze complex data sets, identify inconsistencies, and support more accurate decision-making. The company also provides related services to improve operational efficiency and ensure compliance with industry standards.

The project is focused on providing L2 DevOps and infrastructure support for enterprise-grade on-premises systems within a hybrid virtualization and containerized environment. It includes incident management, root cause analysis, and ensuring system stability, reliability, and secure operations under strict SLA and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Handling L2 support activities, including managing incident escalations from the client service desk.
  • Performing root cause analysis and troubleshooting infrastructure-related issues.
  • Providing on-call support in accordance with defined SLA priorities (1h / 8h / 2d).
  • Supporting and maintaining VMware ESXi / VMDK environments.
  • Configuring and maintaining LXD (QEMU/KVM) virtualization environments.
  • Managing the full lifecycle of virtual machines based on Windows Server 2022.
  • Administering and maintaining containerized environments (NGINX, Kafka).
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity issues across overlay and underlay networks.
  • Ensuring stable connectivity between containers and Windows VMs, as well as between application layers and SQL Server.
  • Assisting in deployment activities coordinated with distributed teams.
  • Supporting rollback procedures and managing production changes.
  • Performing OS and infrastructure patching activities.
  • Implementing configuration updates and system hardening measures.
  • Ensuring compliance with restricted access and security requirements.
  • Providing onsite support when required, including handling incidents in restricted environments.
  • Monitoring infrastructure health using existing monitoring tools.

Requirements

  • Experience in DevOps / Infrastructure / System Engineering for 2+ years.
  • Experience with VMware ESXi and VMDK-based deployments.
  • Experience in Linux administration (Ubuntu Server).
  • Experience with Windows Server 2022.
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with LXD (Linux Containers).
  • Experience with QEMU / KVM virtualization.
  • Experience managing containerized workloads (e.g., NGINX, Kafka).
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, subnetting, routing).
  • Experience overlaying and underlay networking.
  • Experience working with VPNs and restricted access environments.
  • Experience in troubleshooting network issues across hybrid infrastructures.
  • Experience in incident management within L2 support models.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.
  • Experience collaborating within CI/CD processes and distributed teams.
  • Experience with patch management and configuration management.
  • Experience with scripting using Bash.
  • Experience with automation using PowerShell.
  • Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.
