DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Summary

Andersen is hiring a DevOps Engineer (AWS) for a project building a logistics platform, implementing cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and scalable deployment solutions.

The customer is an international company in the logistics and e-commerce domain, specializing in cross-border delivery and shipment management solutions. The organization supports retailers and online businesses with scalable platforms for parcel tracking, customs processing, returns management, and global delivery operations, with a strong focus on automation, efficiency, and sustainable logistics practices.

The project is focused on developing a cross-border logistics and distribution platform for international transportation. It includes AWS cloud setup, containerization of existing .NET and React applications, and implementation of scalable CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code solutions.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing the proposed AWS architecture (App Runner → ECS Fargate) and providing recommendations for improvements.
• Defining and implementing AWS infrastructure using Terraform, including VPC, security groups, IAM, networking, RDS, S3, Cognito, and compute services.
• Containerizing the existing codebase by creating Docker images for APIs, workers, frontend services, and database migration runners.
• Setting up GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines covering build, test, security scans, Terraform plan/apply, and deployments.
• Provisioning and maintaining development and staging AWS environments with remote Terraform state management.
• Configuring observability using CloudWatch logs, metrics, alerts, and monitoring dashboards.
• Implementing security best practices, including Secrets Manager, IAM roles, and end-to-end HTTPS.
• Ensuring the database migration runner applies migrations automatically on deploy.
• Supporting the first end-to-end deployment – making sure scan/lookup flows are reachable through the ALB/App Runner endpoint, workers consume/write to RDS, and everything runs smoothly.
• Ensuring the existing code runs without major rework (only adapter/config changes).

Requirements

• Experience as a DevOps Engineer for 3+ years.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services: VPC (dedicated VPC, public/private subnets), security groups, IAM (least-privilege roles), Secrets Manager, CloudWatch logs/metrics/alarms, RDS (PostgreSQL 16, Single-AZ / Multi-AZ), S3, Cognito, App Runner, and ECS Fargate.
• Understanding of private DB subnets, public ALB/App Runner endpoints, HTTPS end-to-end.
• Experience building Docker containers for .NET APIs, background workers (hosted services), React frontends, and database migration runners.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), including S3 remote state management, DynamoDB locking, and least-privilege IAM practices.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions (build, test, container scan, Terraform plan/apply, deploy) with manual approval before promotion to staging.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.
