L2 Software Engineer

Summary

Andersen is hiring an L2 Software Engineer for a project modernizing industrial production systems and delivering automation solutions for large-scale manufacturing environments.

The project is focused on the automation and modernization of steel and metals production processes. It includes designing and validating industrial control solutions, integrating PLC/SCADA systems with manufacturing and enterprise platforms, and supporting commissioning activities to ensure reliable and efficient plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining Level 2 (Industrial IT) components connecting Level 1 and Level 3 systems.
• Implementing integrations with higher-level systems: MES/ERP/scheduling/reporting (SAP is a plus).
• Working with production data (coil/product data), calculations/rules, and exchange of setpoints/statuses.
• Writing, optimizing, and maintaining complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data extraction processes.
• Supporting reporting, analytics, and operational data flows across manufacturing systems.
• Participating in testing/validation and supporting commissioning when required.

Requirements

• Experience in industrial or enterprise software environments, including Industrial IT, Level 2 systems, MES integrations, or manufacturing IT, for 3+ years.
• Strong experience with C#/.NET for backend and service development.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, performance optimization, and stored procedures.
• Hands-on experience with system integrations, including APIs, database interfaces, file-based integrations, and messaging solutions.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.

Desired skills

• Experience with JavaScript, particularly for HMI development.
• Experience integrating with SAP systems.
• Understanding of the Siemens ecosystem and industrial architectures, including PLC, SCADA, and MES environments.
