System Administrator

Summary

Andersen is hiring a System Administrator for a project supporting mission-critical infrastructure and ensuring reliability, stability, and availability of data center operations.

The customer is a fast-growing technology organization focused on developing advanced solutions in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and high-performance infrastructure. The company builds scalable and reliable technology platforms that support data-intensive workloads, digital transformation initiatives, and innovation across multiple industries.

The project is focused on ensuring the availability, reliability, and continuous operation of mission-critical data center infrastructure. It includes hardware and network support, system monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities to keep data center environments secure, stable, and highly available.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining data center operations to ensure service availability and reliability.
• Conducting hardware and network diagnostics and repairs.
• Performing root cause nalysis of hardware and software failures.
• Training internal teams.
• Developing documentation.
• Providing technical support to data center teams.
• Developing scripts to update server and networking hardware.
• Maintaining inventory.
• Assembling and installing equipment.
• Performing maintenance of test and tool equipment.
• Traveling up to 10% of the time to other data center locations as required by business needs.
• Responding to on-site equipment failures or emergencies within 60 minutes while scheduled on-call.

Requirements

• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and assembly for 3+ years.
• Experience working with Linux operating systems.
• Ability to regularly transport and position equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing diagnostic and repair tasks.
• Ability to maneuver in cramped or elevated spaces, including under-floor areas or on ladders, to access server racks.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills, including handling small hardware components and cables.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule within a 24/7 environment, including participation in a rotating on-call shift.
• Experience in data center environments.
• Experience with computer networking.
• Experience with Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.
• Experience with Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOS.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related field.
