Software Engineer Java (Platform Team)

Summary

Andersen, an international IT сompany, invites an experienced Software Engineer Java to work on a large-scale project for our USA partners.

The customer is a leader in video streaming infrastructure, driving innovation and major developments in the online video streaming industry. They created the first commercial adaptive streaming player and the first software-defined encoding service that operates on any cloud platform. Their solutions are utilized by over 400 customers globally, including prominent names like the BBC, ClassPass, Discovery, fuboTV, and Hulu.

The project involves developing and maintaining a scalable cloud-based technology stack with a cloud-native microservice architecture that operates across AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.

Tech stack on the project: Scalability, Cloud, Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps, AWS, Google, Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate, MySQL, Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, ElasticSearch.

Responsibilities

• Suggesting, planning, and implementing improvements to code structure and architecture in service of testability and maintainability.
• Ensuring quality and stability by writing automated tests and leveraging code reviews for your work and the work of others.
• Extending and enhancing our monitoring/alerting systems as well as building powerful CI/CD systems.
• Continually evaluating emerging technologies to stay ahead.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices.

Requirements

• Practical experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google) for 3+ years.
• Ability to read and understand syntax (ability to migrate code from Java to Kotlin and vice versa).
• Experience with Data streaming technology.
• Experience in AQA (with popular frameworks - Selenium, etc).
• Experience in DevOps activities - CI/CD, Terraform, Pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Solid Java/Kotlin knowledge, with professional experience in development and architectural design.
• Experience with cloud-native, microservice-based architectures.
• Passion for software craftsmanship, best practices, design patterns, automated testing, and clean code.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.

Desired skills

• Having a certificate (not basic).
• Kafka streams.
