Android Developer (Kotlin)

Summary

The IT company Andersen invites Android Developer to work on a large-scale project for one of our partners from Georgia.

The customer is a leading financial institution headquartered in Georgia, this organization operates across multiple countries, including Uzbekistan. It is known for its strong digital ecosystem, offering a wide range of services in retail, corporate, and SME banking. With a significant market share and millions of customers, it is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is part of the FTSE 250 Index.

The project is a centralized system of reusable design and code components, aimed at ensuring consistency and efficiency across digital products.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining a reusable Android component library, implementing components using Jetpack Compose and XML, and optimizing UI components for various screen sizes and devices.
• Working with designers to translate Figma assets into reusable components and communicating design system updates to development teams.
• Creating presentations and documentation for updates and best practices, and organizing feedback sessions with developers to gather insights.
• Collaborating with iOS and Web developers for cross-platform consistency and participating in design critiques and technical reviews.
• Writing clean, modular, and well-documented Kotlin code, ensuring maintainability and scalability through MVVM architecture and dependency injection.
• Implementing unit and UI testing to ensure stability and reliability, and conducting profiling and performance tuning for UI improvements.
• Gathering feedback to refine component usability, staying updated on Android UI development trends, and identifying opportunities for workflow automation.
• Contributing to knowledge-sharing sessions and code reviews.

Requirements

• Experience in Android development, specializing in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose for 4+ years.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Compose for building modern, responsive, and scalable user interfaces.
• Strong understanding of Android UI frameworks, custom components, and animations.
• Experience with Material Design, theming, and scalable UI development.
• Familiarity with design tokens, accessibility standards (WCAG), and reusable component architecture.
• Solid experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD workflows, ensuring smooth collaboration and efficient delivery pipelines.
• Proven track record in developing reusable Android libraries to support scalable and maintainable codebases.
• Proficiency in unit and UI testing frameworks to ensure component stability.
• Ability to read and interpret Figma designs, ensuring accurate implementation of design specifications.
• English – from Advanced and above.

Desired skills

• Experience with XML-based UI design.
• Prior experience working in a Design System Team or contributing to a design driven projects.
• Experience with accessibility testing and performance profiling tools for Android apps.
• Familiarity with cross-platform frameworks (Kotlin Multiplatform, Flutter, or React Native).
