Summary

Andersen invites a Data Architect for a large-scale project with a USA client in global travel payments. The role involves auditing and analyzing the client’s data landscape to assess quality and structure, laying the foundation for future AI-driven solutions.

The customer is a global corporate travel payment solution owned and operated by the world’s airlines. The network consists of major airlines that issue charge cards accepted by thousands of merchants around the world for air, rail, cruise and travel agency payments.

The project is a new initiative with a key client focused on auditing and analyzing their current data landscape. The goal is to assess the quality, structure, and readiness of their data infrastructure and pipelines, with a long-term vision of enabling AI-powered tools.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting a full audit of the client's existing data landscape, including pipelines, data stores, and streaming capabilities.
  • Identifying data quality issues, architectural bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluating the feasibility of future AI-driven features based on current data maturity and structure.
  • Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders (including Solution Architect involved in proposal phase) and the client’s technical team.
  • Providing architectural recommendations and documentation for the next project phases.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer in distributed environments for 5+ years.
  • Strong experience in data streaming technologies – e.g., Kafka, Pulsar, Spark Streaming, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or Amazon SQS.
  • Proven hands-on experience with distributed data architectures, including Apache Spark / PySpark.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and systems.
  • Ability to work independently during the discovery phase, communicate findings clearly, and propose actionable steps.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguous environments and laying technical foundations for future work.
  • Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.

Desired skills

  • Experience working in AI/ML-related projects.
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Familiarity with metadata management, data governance, or data cataloguing tools.
