Security Engineer (F5) in the EU

Andersen is looking for a skilled Security Engineer (F5) in the EU to join an exciting automotive project in the EU. In this role, you'll provide expert support for F5 BIG-IP iSeries appliances, focusing on the software layer. You'll be working with a renowned German tech company that partners with the world’s leading car manufacturers—from Audi and BMW to Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen.
The customer is a German company, one of the leading global developers of innovative technologies. The company works with all big names in the automotive industry (Audi, Bentley, BMW, Bosch, Bugatti, Chrysler, Fiat, Volkswagen, Ford, Honda, Mercedes-Benz) and the research sector. And it is involved from initial conceptualization to real-life road testing.
The role is focused on providing consulting and support services for the F5 hardware cluster (BIG-IP iSeries appliances), with a focus on the software layer.
Responsibilities
- Providing operational support and maintenance of the existing F5 infrastructure (LTM, APM, ASM).
- Designing and implementing configuration changes.
- Planning and executing F5 migrations within the infrastructure.
- Optimizing and extending F5 iRule frameworks.
- Conducting workshops and technical knowledge sharing sessions.
- Creating and updating documentation for F5 rules, configurations, and operational procedures.
Requirements
- Experience as a Security Engineer for 3+ years.
- Strong knowledge of F5 BIG-IP, including LTM, APM, ASM.
- Deep understanding of iRules, SSL termination, SNAT/NAT, HA.
- Experience in on-prem network infrastructure.
- Ability to operate without test environments.
- Experience with manual configuration and scripting (PS).
- Comfortable with ad-hoc tasks and no SLA-based model.
- Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.
Desired skills
- Knowledge of German.
